Euro pallet and pallet requirements

First and foremost, pallets are designed for the transport and storage of goods, but with a good imagination, the uses of these pallets are many times greater and offer a wide range of applications. The sale of pallets is an important product group for Pakenditööstus OÜ, and our warehouse is an excellent example of how to store goods on different pallets. High quality and durable pallets help to transport the shipment safely and comfortably and to store it efficiently. At Pakenditööstus OÜ, you will find certified pallets in standard sizes in common EUR sizes, with different load capacities and finishes. The range of pallets available from Pakenditööst OÜ includes plastic and wooden pallets.

The standard dimensions of the Euro tray are 800 x 1200 mm (31.50 x 47.24 inches).

Quality standards: EPAL certification ensures that pallets meet specific criteria for construction, materials and processing methods. This certification guarantees a certain level of quality and durability. ISPM 15 compliance: Like other wooden pallets used in international trade, Euro pallets must comply with the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No 15 (ISPM 15). This requirement aims to prevent the spread of pests and diseases by regulating the treatment of wooden packaging materials.

EPAL logo: EPAL-licensed euro pallets bear the EPAL logo, which includes the EPAL trademark and a specific registration number. The logo indicates compliance with EPAL standards and guarantees that the pallet is part of the official collection of euro pallets.

Recovery and recycling: damaged components of the euro pallets can be replaced, extending the life of the pallet. EPAL encourages restoration and reuse to promote the sustainability of wooden pallets.

Handling and automation: the standard dimensions of Euro pallets make them well suited for automated handling systems such as forklifts, conveyors and pallet trucks. This compatibility enhances efficiency in warehouses and during transport.

Exchange system: euro pallets are often part of a pallet exchange system, where users can exchange used pallets for new or refurbished pallets. This system helps to maintain a consistent supply of high quality pallets in the logistics chain. Euro-pallets play a crucial role in the European supply chain, providing a reliable and standardised platform for the transport and storage of goods. Adherence to quality standards and widespread recognition of Euro Pallets contribute to their popularity and efficiency in logistics operations across Europe.

Euro pallet requirements: pallets must be heat treated and bear the appropriate ISPM 15 mark; pallets must be clean, with no visible traces of dirt or chemicals (glues, paints, oils); euro pallets must be free from traces of live or dead wood pests; pallet boards must not be rotten or mouldy; cross-breaks in the boards are not permitted; if a pallet board is broken, this is only permitted if no more than one nail or nail mark is visible on the outside. If the damage is on the outside of the nailing area, the length of the damage must not exceed 88 mm; a cracked cube is not permitted if more than one nail or nail mark is visible.

Main euro pallets measures: 400 x 600 mm; 600 x 800 mm; 800 x 1200 mm; 900 x 1200 mm; 1000 x 1200 mm; 1050 x 1150 mm; 1080 x 1180 mm; 1200 x 1200 mm; certified  EUR / EPAL 800 x 1200 mm; certified  FIN  1000 x 1200 mm
